The more I dig into DUSK, the more I realize I was looking at privacy and compliance from the wrong angle.

I used to think institutions had to choose: keep financial activity private or make everything visible enough for regulators to check.
Dusk makes that assumption interesting.
The idea is that a transaction can stay shielded while still proving that the required rules were followed whether that’s an ownership limit, investor eligibility, or a transfer restriction.
That feels like a much better definition of compliance to me.
Because compliance shouldn’t automatically mean exposing every detail. Sometimes the important thing is proving that something is valid without revealing everything that happened behind it.

That’s where Dusk really caught my attention.

The bigger question, though, is whether regulators will eventually be comfortable accepting cryptographic proof as evidence, or whether they’ll still want to see the underlying data.

That may be the real test for privacy-focused finance.
