A privacy chain that wants developers has to answer an uncomfortable question first, why would anyone build here instead of somewhere with more liquidity, more tooling, and a bigger user base already using it daily. DuskEVM is Dusk's answer, giving Solidity developers a familiar entry point instead of forcing them to learn a new language and execution model just to access confidential contracts. That's a reasonable move, since most chains that ask developers to relearn everything from scratch end up with a handful of committed builders and not much else. But EVM compatibility solves onboarding friction, not the harder problem, which is whether there's actually a reason to deploy here versus an established chain with better distribution. Confidential contracts are the pitch, and they only matter to specific use cases, mostly regulated finance, not the median DeFi app being copied and redeployed across chains. So the tooling question is mostly solved. The demand question isn't. Lower friction gets developers to look. It doesn't tell you whether they'll stay once they compare the ecosystem size to what they're used to.
