Gen Z isn't the degen gambler crowd TradFi thinks they are.
New Binance Research drops some alpha that flips the narrative:
76% of Gen Z bStocks accounts = net accumulators (not just flipping)
22% of direct equity accounts = buy-only, zero sells
88.2% of TradFi-Perps accounts = zero leveraged or inverse ETF activity
Their portfolio allocation is shifting hard into unleveraged ETFs:
June: 14.6% of turnover
July: 21.4%
Early Aug: 25.0%
That's 2.6x higher than Millennials (9.5%) in the same window.
The market called them reckless apes. The data says they're accumulating smarter than the generation before them.
Gen Z might be early to crypto, but they're not stupid. They're building positions while everyone else is still memeing about leverage.
