the part that messed with me in Dusk's XSC was changing only the amount.
same sender.
same receiver.
same security.
same key authorizing the transfer.
but one amount could fit and another could be refused.
that felt worse than a simple whitelist failure somehow.
because if i own the security and my signature is valid, what exactly becomes wrong just because i try to send more of it?
nothing cryptographic, apparently.
the Dusk signature can prove that the instruction came from the holder.
but the Confidential Security Contract still has another number sitting behind the transfer.
with Dusk’s Zedger model, an XSC can enforce a capped transfer so the receiver does not cross an ownership threshold configured for that security.
and i kept getting stuck on the amount.
not the identity.
not the key.
the amount.
because now ownership does not feel like the end of the permission question anymore.
i can own the XSC security token.
i can decide to dispose of it.
i can correctly authorize that movement.
and Dusk compliant settlement can still look at what the receiver would become after the transfer and refuse to create that state.
which is such a financial kind of rejection.
nothing about my ownership suddenly became fake.
nothing about my signature stopped being mine.
the XSC just has rules about the ownership state that comes next.
and yeah, “transferable security” sounded much simpler before that.
i had been reading transferable like bearer-token transferable.
if i have it, i can send it.
but Dusk's XSC seems to leave this annoying space between those two verbs.

sending.
the first can already be true while the second is still being checked against issuer rules, holder eligibility, ownership caps, whatever that security was configured to preserve.
so i keep coming back to those two amounts.
