Dusk: Privacy Built for Real Finance
I’ve been looking at Dusk from a slightly different angle. Privacy in blockchain is often treated as a feature, but for financial applications, I think it can be much more fundamental.
Dusk Network is a Layer-1 blockchain focused on bringing privacy and compliance closer together. What caught my attention is its Confidential Security Contract (XSC) standard and support for confidential smart contracts.
For me, the interesting part is the balance: financial activity may need transparency and verifiability, but exposing every sensitive detail publicly isn’t always practical. Dusk is building around that tension instead of simply ignoring it.
I see this as an important direction for blockchain adoption. If institutions and regulated markets are ever going to use public blockchain infrastructure at scale, privacy cannot remain an afterthought.
What I find compelling about Dusk is the idea that confidentiality and verifiability don’t necessarily have to compete.
That’s the bigger question I’m watching: can blockchain become open enough to verify, while private enough to actually use?
Dusk is taking an interesting shot at that problem.
