US$ 4.000 millones es la cantidad de dinero en oro que Venezuela intenta recuperar de las bóvedas subterráneas del Banco de Inglaterra. El Banco de Inglaterra se ha negado, por mucho tiempo, a liberar las 31 toneladas métricas de oro venezolano. Venezuela tiene pensado centrar los recursos en la reconstrucción del país luego del doblete sísmico que afectó a varios estados de la nación.
Recientemente, el presidente de la Asamblea Nacional (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, indicó el Gobierno y los legisladores habían acordado centrarse en proyectos destinados a la reconstrucción de viviendas, la mejora de la capacidad del sistema de salud, el acceso a la electricidad y la remoción de escombros.
Además, resaltó que, tras recuperar los activos, se establecerá «mecanismos de transparencia, trazabilidad y auditoría en la utilización eficiente de los mismos, para garantizar el bienestar de todos los afectados».

The Bank of England has long refused to release the 31 metric tons of Venezuelan gold. Venezuela plans to use the funds to focus on rebuilding the country following the double earthquake that affected several states across the nation.
Recently, the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, stated that the government and lawmakers had agreed to focus on projects aimed at rebuilding homes, improving the capacity of the healthcare system, expanding access to electricity, and removing debris.
He also emphasized that, once the assets are recovered, “mechanisms for transparency, traceability, and auditing will be established to ensure their efficient use and guarantee the well-being of all those affected.”
