I keep coming back to $DUSK because the privacy model feels useful and awkward at the same time.

XSC lets developers keep specific contract data confidential instead of making everything public. Great for institutions—but developers have to decide exactly what stays private. Get that wrong and sensitive state could leak.

Then there’s debugging. If contract state is hidden, figuring out why a position failed or a transaction behaved unexpectedly gets much harder. View keys can help, but now every contract needs another layer of logic.

Selective auditability is probably the most interesting part. A fund could prove what regulators need without exposing its entire strategy publicly. That makes sense for tokenized securities, even if privacy purists probably won’t love it.

And private transactions could remove a lot of MEV because there’s nothing visible to front-run.

Still, the tradeoff keeps bothering me: privacy hides information from attackers and competitors—but it can also hide information from developers trying to find bugs.

Maybe the real challenge for Dusk isn’t making blockchain private.

It’s making private smart contracts actually debuggable when real money is on the line.
