At first I assumed a privacy system mainly had to make the private path technically strong. But the more I looked at Dusk’s transaction design, the less that seemed like the difficult part. What caught my attention was the decision to keep Moonlight and Phoenix as separate models rather than hiding that choice completely. Phoenix can keep transaction details private through encrypted notes and zero-knowledge proofs, while Moonlight leaves activity more visible. That sounds simple until the wallet becomes part of the decision. A user may not think in terms of transaction models at all. They may simply assume that using a privacy-focused network means their activity is private. So the technical choice ends up depending partly on how clearly the application exposes it. Maybe that is unavoidable when transparency and confidentiality serve different operational needs. It also means privacy is not only a protocol property. It becomes partly a product and user-understanding problem. Makes me wonder whether wallets should expose that choice directly, or quietly handle it based on context.
