BNB Smart Chain announced that the Pasteur hard fork is scheduled to activate on the mainnet at 10:30 (UTC+8) on August 25. Node operators are required to upgrade to client version v1.7.7 ahead of this date to ensure a smooth transition and continued network stability.

The upgrade introduces several key improvements, including the implementation of BEP-682, BEP-695, and BEP-675. According to BNB Chain, BEP-682 will strengthen the verification mechanism, enhancing cross-chain security and reducing the risk of malicious attacks during asset transfers. BEP-695 focuses on validator governance, providing more robust tools for validators to participate in network decision-making processes. BEP-675 aims to improve network throughput, supporting higher transaction volumes and better scalability.

The BNB Chain team emphasized that node operators must complete the upgrade in advance to avoid potential disruptions or network forks. The upgrade process involves updating to the latest client version, which includes security patches and performance enhancements designed to bolster the chain's overall resilience.
