$SUI Sui Expands Bitcoin DeFi With Native BTC Lending Infrastructure.
Sui has launched the Hashi testnet, introducing infrastructure designed to bring native Bitcoin into decentralized finance without requiring wrapped BTC. Developed by the Sui Foundation and Mysten Labs, Hashi is being tested with more than 25 institutional partners ahead of a planned mainnet deployment.
The system is designed to let Bitcoin holders use native $BTC as collateral across lending and other DeFi applications while maintaining Bitcoin's underlying asset form. The testnet phase gives developers, infrastructure providers and institutional participants an opportunity to test the system before production deployment.
Hashi adds another major component to Sui's Bitcoin-focused strategy. Instead of depending on wrapped versions of BTC, the infrastructure targets direct access to Bitcoin liquidity within Sui's DeFi ecosystem, expanding the network's potential use cases for institutional and decentralized financial applications.
