Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich has dismissed speculation that the company sold Bitcoin after 5,014 $BTC, worth about $322 million, was moved between custodial addresses.
Gerovich said the transaction was a routine custody operation and confirmed that no Bitcoin was sold. Metaplanet’s holdings remain at 43,000 BTC.
The clarification matters because large Bitcoin transfers can quickly trigger fears of selling pressure when they appear on-chain.
Metaplanet has continued building its Bitcoin treasury, adding 2,823 BTC during Q2 2026 and reaching 43,000 BTC by June 30.
