I read through how Kadcast works, the network layer under Dusk, and I want to say what I actually think. Most blockchains spread data like gossip in a packed bar. You hear something, tell three people, they tell nine more, and half the room already heard it twice. That's the old gossip protocol most chains still use.
Everyone floods everyone. Same data repeated clogging the pipes Kadcast skips the shouting match. Each node roughly knows who's "close" to it in the network, so data moves along a set path instead of getting thrown at random. Less duplicate traffic, more predictable speed. And if some nodes drop out mid-transfer, there's error correction built in, so the message still lands without a resend.
I've watched a dozen chains slap "lightning fast" on a page with nothing behind it. This is different Dusk rebuilt the plumbing instead of relabeling it. That matters more when you're trying to settle real financial assets, not just push tokens around.Still plumbing isn't the whole house. I'm not buying anything off this alone and before trusting a chain with real money, ask what happens when a thousand nodes talk at once. Most can't answer. Dusk at least tried.
