$APR $BR $AVAAI 🇱🇧 The Lebanese Parliament has just passed a sweeping amnesty law that will benefit THOUSANDS of prisoners and wanted people.

It's the first legislation of its kind since the early 1990's.

The change is meant to address prison overcrowding, as well as prolonged pretrial detentions.

The office of the speaker announced “approval of a draft law aimed at granting a general amnesty and exceptionally reducing the terms of certain sentences.”

It comes as Lebanon just became the FIRST state in the Middle East to abolish the death penalty...
