🇺🇸 America’s debt problem is becoming an interest problem.

Annualized interest on U.S. federal debt hit a record $1.38 trillion: 4.2% of GDP, the highest share since 1997... That’s nearly $900 billion more than five years ago.

A +200% jump, growing at 24% a year on average.

In the first nine months of FY2026 alone, interest already reached $827 billion, up another $78 billion from last year.

Every extra dollar of interest is a dollar that can’t go to defense, infrastructure, Social Security, or tax cuts.

The bigger the interest bill gets, the tighter the fiscal noose becomes.

America is not reducing the debt, they're just making it's people pay more and more just to stand still.
