$COTI Could Be One of the More Interesting Privacy Plays to Watch
Most of the crypto market attention goes toward the biggest names, but some of the more interesting developments are happening much further down the rankings. $COTI is currently sitting outside the top 100 by market capitalization, yet its technology is targeting a problem that could become increasingly important as blockchain adoption grows: on-chain privacy.
COTI has evolved into a confidentiality-focused Ethereum Layer 2 using Garbled Circuits and MPC-based cryptography. The idea is not simply to create another private blockchain, but to give applications the ability to use privacy while remaining connected to the broader EVM ecosystem. That creates potential use cases across DeFi, payments, AI, identity and other applications where completely transparent transactions may not always be practical.
What makes COTI interesting to me is the shift from privacy being a niche feature to privacy becoming infrastructure. Public blockchains are powerful because transactions can be verified, but businesses and users may not want every balance, transaction or sensitive piece of information exposed forever. A programmable confidentiality layer could address part of that problem.
The market is already showing increased attention toward the project, but I would not chase price after a sharp move. The important thing now is whether COTI can turn this renewed attention into sustained ecosystem activity and continued adoption.
For me, $COTI is a project worth keeping on the watchlist, especially because it combines a clear privacy narrative with an Ethereum-focused infrastructure approach. The next phase will be about execution, adoption and whether real usage can support the narrative.
What do you think: can privacy become one of the major narratives of the next crypto cycle?
