Basis Compressed. Revenue Continued.
Bitcoin’s annualized front-month basis fell from roughly 25% in early 2024 to 4.46% by the end of 2025, while funding remained near neutral through much of 2026.
That is a very different environment from the high-basis conditions that can make market-neutral yield look effortless.
Yet BounceBit generated $457K in fees over the past 30 days on $230M in TVL.
The interesting part is not simply the fee number.
It is what happens when the market becomes less generous.
When basis compresses, strategies have to become more selective. Execution matters more. Capital efficiency matters more. Infrastructure matters more.
That is the broader evolution of onchain yield.
The market is moving away from:
“How high is the APR?”
toward:
“What market structure produces the return, and can it continue working when conditions change?”
For institutional capital, that distinction matters.
High yield during a favorable funding environment is one thing.
Building infrastructure that can operate through compressed basis, neutral funding, and changing liquidity conditions is another.
Basis compressed. Revenue continued.
