According to Jin10, Japanese government bond yields rose on Monday after investors grew more focused on the possibility that the Bank of Japan could raise interest rates faster than expected, following the release of the summary of opinions from its latest monetary policy meeting. The benchmark 10-year Japanese government bond yield rose 0.025 percentage point to 2.810% in morning trade, while the 2-year yield briefly touched about a 31-year high of 1.620% and the 5-year yield climbed to a record 2.090%. Totan Research and Totan ICAP data showed that the market-implied probability of a September rate hike had risen to 66% by Monday afternoon, up from about 30% at the end of last month.
