Citrini analyst jukan said in a post on X, citing The Wall Street Journal, that ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) has reached full capacity this year and has little room for new international customers. According to Odaily, HP and Acer have received a limited number of memory chips from CXMT and are seeking to secure more supply next year.

Jukan added that many CXMT products are priced on par with comparable chips from Micron, SK Hynix, and Samsung Electronics, while some are priced above those rivals. He also said U.S. federal rules prevent Apple from ordering custom chips from CXMT, leaving Apple to use off-the-shelf components. Using CXMT standard memory chips could force Apple to redesign parts of its products.
