Several American citizens told CNN that their family homes have been destroyed in Israel's war against Hezbollah, which the Israel Defense Forces says is targeting enemy positions. Since the fighting resumed in March this year, after Hezbollah fired rockets into Israel following US-Israeli strikes on Iran, almost 18,000 homes have been destroyed, according to a United Nations Development Programme assessment published in June.
