I was pulling up Babylon's vesting schedule to sanity-check something before lunch and noticed the next $BABY unlock lands August 10 — 136M tokens, about 1.2% of supply, four days out. Fine, normal cadence. That's not what made me pause though.
What got me was scrolling the finality provider list right after. Same names I remember from Genesis launch — Lombard, Figment, Galaxy — still sitting at the top, still absorbing the bulk of new BTC delegation. And then it clicked: multi-staking doesn't route fresh delegation to new providers when a BSN integrates. It just lets the same already-delegated BTC secure the new chain too. So every "network effects strengthen with each integration" take I've read... technically true, sure, but the compounding is happening to maybe a dozen addresses, not the 250+ FP set Babylon likes to cite.
@BabylonLabs_io isn't hiding this, to be fair — it's just not the framing on the landing page. I went in expecting to write about integration breadth. Ended up staring at delegation concentration instead.
Snack break's over and I'm still turning this one over — does more BSNs onboarding actually decentralize anything here, or does it just hand the same dozen providers more surface area to compound on?
