i keep thinking if a Babylon Bitcoin Supercharged Network is receiving BTC-backed economic security then my Bitcoin must have crossed into that BSN somehow.
wrapped BTC maybe. bridge claim. custodied balance. some token inside the PoS execution layer pretending to be the Bitcoin i left behind.
because otherwise what exactly is Babylon giving that BSN? where is the security coming from if the asset never arrives?
but Babylon keeps splitting the two things i keep joining together.
my BTC can stay inside the Taproot staking output on Bitcoin. no wrapped asset entering the Babylon-connected BSN. no cross-chain bridge or custodian controlling the coins.
and that BSN still runs its own execution. produces its own blocks. Babylon Genesis is coordinating the BTC staking relationship, not becoming the chain.
so what did the BSN actually receive through Babylon?
not liquidity. not custody. not the staking UTXO.
a Babylon Finality Provider can use delegated BTC voting power to add Bitcoin-backed finality around those BSN blocks. dishonest finality can still put slashable BTC at risk back on Bitcoin.
“Babylon sends the security relationship. not the Bitcoin.”
and that keeps messing with the assumption in my head that Bitcoin has to become another asset before another chain can use its value.
because the BSN stays sovereign. Babylon does not take over its execution.
but the punishment behind lying about its finality can still sit inside Bitcoin somewhere else?
so maybe nothing crossed except what Babylon connected.
the BSN stays there. the BTC stays here.
and Babylon somehow lets one make the other harder to break.
