#baby @BabylonLabs_io $BABY
Been holding BTC through three cycles now and never once used it for anything beyond sitting in cold storage. That always felt like a waste honestly. Billions in Bitcoin just parked doing nothing while other chains figured out staking and yield years ago. Babylon is the first project that made me pause and actually reconsider that setup.
The idea is simple on paper. Stake your BTC without wrapping it or handing it to a custodian and use that security to help secure proof of stake chains. No bridging. No synthetic tokens pretending to be Bitcoin. I remember reading the docs the first time and thinking this sounds too clean to actually work at scale. Maybe I am still a little skeptical about that.
What gets me thinking is the timing. PoS networks have always had this nagging security question in the back of every serious builder's mind. Borrowing from Bitcoin's proof of work security instead of building trust from scratch is one of those ideas that seems obvious in hindsight but nobody solved cleanly until now. It felt strange watching BTC maxis and PoS people actually find common ground here.
I am not going to pretend I know how this plays out. Restaking narratives have burned people before and Babylon carries some of that same risk profile even if the mechanics differ. Still checking my node setup every few days out of curiosity more than conviction at this point.
Where this lands in a year is genuinely unclear to me. Watching closely though.
