$SOL Solana's Double Deflation Proposal (SGP-0002) Reaches 57.1% Support, Increasing Deflation Rate to 30%/Year

Solana's SGP-0002 proposal has entered the support phase, currently receiving 37.69 million SOL in support, reaching 57.1% of the required 64.90 million SOL threshold.

🔸 The proposal increases the annual deflation rate from 15% to 30% to shorten the time to reach the 1.5% end-of-period inflation rate from 5.7 years to 2.8 years.

🔸 Within 6 years, the number of SOL tokens issued will decrease by approximately 19.89 million tokens, contributing to reducing long-term supply pressure.

👉 If approved, this would be a major change to Solana's tokenomics, accelerating the process of reducing inflation and creating scarcity for the token. This move could attract more long-term investors and strengthen Solana's position. The current support level is still about 16 million SOL short of the voting threshold, but this momentum shows a fairly high level of consensus within the community.

💬 Do you support Solana's proposed deflationary increase? How do you think this will affect the long-term price of SOL?
