I took a look at how Babylon uses Bitcoin data and I think the interesting thing is not checking each piece of data one by one It is checking how all these pieces of data are connected to each other

A Bitcoin transaction hash is pretty easy to check It is either real It is not.. That alone does not prove that the money ended up in the right place or that it used the right script or that it is what the system thinks it is

The hard part is proving how all these pieces of data are related to each other If a vault ID and a transaction ID are both real the system still needs to be sure that they are talking about the thing Just because they look okay on their own is not enough

This is also true for the parts of a transaction. The amount of money where it is going the script that locks it and the conditions for spending it all need to match what the system expects Extra information is useful for keeping track of things It should not be the thing that we trust

There is also a risk with identifying assets Two assets can have the name but be from different people or have different contracts or be in different amounts Everything might look fine at first The system could still be looking at the wrong asset

This does not mean that Babylon has a problem It just shows where the real question about security is not whether each piece of data is okay on its own but whether the system can prove how all the pieces of data are connected to each other

That is where we get confidence from. Not from pieces of data but from the connections between them that we have checked
