One thing completely changed how I look at @BabylonLabs_io
It wasn't Bitcoin Staking.
It wasn't borrowing.
It was realizing that Babylon isn't trying to reinvent Bitcoin at all.
For years, most crypto innovation followed the same pattern: wrap BTC, bridge it somewhere else, then build applications around that new version of Bitcoin.
Babylon is exploring a different path.
Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV) are designed around the idea that native BTC should remain the economic foundation instead of being replaced by another asset. The first public integration with Aave v4 shows how borrowing can be explored while keeping Bitcoin at the center of the design.
Bitcoin Staking already demonstrated that native BTC can strengthen decentralized security through Finality Providers.
TBV extend that idea by exploring how the same BTC can support new financial applications without changing the ownership principles that made Bitcoin trusted in the first place.
Meanwhile, $BABY serves a different purpose. It supports governance and validator participation, allowing the ecosystem to evolve while Bitcoin continues providing the underlying economic security.
The part I'm watching isn't whether one feature succeeds.
It's whether this design philosophy attracts more builders.
If future protocols decide it's easier to build around native Bitcoin instead of replacing it, that could become Babylon's biggest contribution to the ecosystem.
That's a much bigger question than simply asking how much BTC is locked today.
