That distinction becomes important during periods of volatility. If most meaningful execution still depends on centralized exchanges, then price discovery, large trades, and exits remain concentrated in places that sit outside the protocol's trust-minimized design.
For Babylon, I think the more interesting metric over the next few months won't be total trading volume. It'll be whether liquidity gradually migrates on-chain as the ecosystem matures.
A protocol built around minimizing trust creates its strongest network effects when users can also enter, exit, and trade in the same trust environment.
That's the transition I'm watching. High volume attracts attention. Deep decentralized liquidity builds resilience.
