Long before I understood how Babylon actually works, I understood why it caught my attention. The idea of staking Bitcoin without giving up custody feels genuinely appealing. It sounds like a way to do more with BTC without sacrificing what makes it valuable in the first place. But the longer I sit with that idea, the more I realize the hardest questions have very little to do with the technology itself.
Decentralization can reduce the need to trust a single party, but it doesn't make responsibility disappear. When something unexpected happens, people don't just wonder what went wrong. They want to know who they can count on and where accountability really begins.
To me, that's the real test. Trust isn't proven when everything goes according to plan. It's revealed when the answers aren't easy and all that's left are the difficult questions.
