Tyler Williams, a senior U.S. Treasury official responsible for digital asset policy, has left his position. According to Odaily, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed that Williams’ last day at the department was last Friday. Williams joined the Treasury in early 2025 after serving as Galaxy Digital’s head of policy and is expected to return to the private sector.
Williams had served as Bessent’s chief crypto adviser and worked on the Trump administration’s digital asset agenda. His departure comes as Congress remains deadlocked over the CLARITY Act, with the market structure bill held up by disagreements over ethics provisions for federal officials before lawmakers’ August recess.
