#baby $BABY I spent the afternoon in the baby side of the timeline and something kept bothering me.

Not because I think @BabylonLabs_io is doing something wrong. It’s more about the timing.

The Upbit campaign brought a lot of attention, trading activity, lucky draws, leaderboards… #Babylon was everywhere.

But then I looked past the noise and asked myself: what is the real product here?

For me, it’s Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV).

The idea is pretty powerful — use native BTC as DeFi collateral while keeping the BTC on Bitcoin, instead of wrapping or bridging it. With Aave v4, users can test borrowing against BTC through the TBV setup. The important part? The product is still on public testnet.

And honestly, I’m okay with that.

I’d rather see Babylon properly test this infrastructure than rush it to mainnet just because baby is trending.

But we also need to stop calling everything “adoption.”

Trading volume isn’t the same as product usage.

Holding isn’t the same as using BTC as collateral.

Social buzz isn’t the same as people borrowing against their Bitcoin.

The real test comes next.

Can campaign attention turn into real TBV users?

Can BTC holders become borrowers?

Can developers build around this infrastructure?

If yes, then today’s hype might actually be the beginning of something much bigger.

Attention is easy. Real Bitcoin utility is the hard part.

That’s what I’m watching next. #1
