Google DeepMind Chief Strategy Officer Jasjeet Sekhon said one reason behind the AI industry's unprecedented capital spending is a bet that future AI systems will have recursive self-improvement, or RSI, capabilities. According to PANews, Sekhon said RSI refers to AI systems that can analyze and improve their own capabilities, design more efficient algorithms, refine model architectures, and drive the continued improvement of next-generation AI systems. Sekhon said RSI is becoming a new core investment narrative in the AI industry after artificial general intelligence, or AGI.
