China's Securities Association of China is seeking comments on a revision to its practice guide No. 3 on sponsor due diligence, aiming to refine due diligence standards for technology companies and improve financial services for innovative startups in emerging and future industries, according to Jiemian News. The proposed changes would require sponsors to assess whether issuers align with trends in innovation and integration with new technologies, industries, business formats and models, and to conduct a more comprehensive review of industry position, technological advancement, growth potential and compliance to ensure issuers meet the listing standards of their chosen market board. The draft also adds more detailed checks for the recommendation stage, including risk factors, ownership structure and financial authenticity, as well as industry-specific due diligence requirements covering special sales models and core technology R&D, and introduces separate checks on major litigation and administrative penalties.
