Honestly , I stopped on a number that still feels almost unreal.
Nine thousand satoshis.
In October 2025, two months after the Trustless Bitcoin Vaults whitepaper came out, David Tse posted the first real experiment from his own account. Not a testnet. Not a simulation. A live Bitcoin transaction and a matching Ethereum transaction, both sitting in public explorers for anyone to check.
Nine thousand satoshis locked into a vault. Exactly one USDC borrowed on Morpho. Native Bitcoin that never left the Bitcoin chain, never got wrapped, never went through a custodian.
I went and checked both transaction links myself. That small amount was the first time native BTC became usable as loan collateral on Ethereum without the usual trust trade-offs.
What keeps coming back to me is the distance between that moment and where TBV sits now. The same mechanism is currently running the Aave V4 public testnet and sits behind a planned GoMining integration that talks about up to one thousand BTC.
That first experiment was deliberately tiny. The current work is clearly aiming much larger. Whether the original trust assumptions hold when the size moves from one dollar to meaningful scale is still the part I have not seen fully stress-tested in public.
