Everyone's talking about building trustless infrastructure.

But what if the biggest trust assumption isn't in the protocol... it's in the market?

Spent some time looking into @BabylonLabs_io today, and one thing stood out.

The tech is clearly aimed at reducing reliance on bridges and custodians, pushing Bitcoin toward a more native DeFi experience. That's a direction a lot of people have wanted for years.

Then I looked beyond the product.

The majority of $BABY trading activity still happens on centralized exchanges, while only a small share finds its way to on-chain markets.

It made me realize something:

A protocol can be fully decentralized under the hood, yet its token can still depend on centralized venues for liquidity, price discovery, and accessibility.

That's not necessarily a flaw—it's a reflection of where the ecosystem is today.

Maybe decentralization isn't a switch you flip.

Maybe it's a stack, where the infrastructure evolves first, and the markets catch up later.

Curious what others think:

Which matters more in the long run—the protocol being trustless, or the market around it becoming trustless too?
