One thing about Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV) keeps standing out to me.
Most discussions focus on how much BTC is locked, but I think the more important question is what kind of security that BTC is actually providing.
A traditional TVL number only tells us the amount of capital. It doesn't explain whether that capital is creating a coordinAtion network that other applications can reliably build on.
TBV is interesting because Bitcoin remains native instead of being wrapped into another asset. That changes the trust assumptions and shifts attention toward verification, coordination, and settlement rather than simple asset movement.
This is why I don't view TBV as just another Bitcoin DeFi product. If developers begin treating Bitcoin backEd security as infrastructure instead of liquidity, the long-term value may come from the network effects created around that security not from the TVL figure alone.
For me, the real metric isn't simply "How much BTC is locked today?" It's "How many future protocols decide TBV is the security layer they wanT to depend on?"
That answer could matter far more than any single week's inflow or outflow.
