@BabylonLabs_io There was a moment today when I almost blamed the network.

A Babylon TBV vault I was watching seemed a little slower than I expected. Not by much just enough to make me wonder if something was wrong.

My first instinct was, "The network must be lagging."

So I started checking everything.

The Bitcoin transaction was already confirmed.

The vault looked healthy.

The logs didn't show anything unusual.

The more I checked, the more obvious it became that nothing was actually broken.

The only thing that was off... was my expectation.

I had assumed that once Bitcoin reached finality, every connected layer would instantly show the same result.

But distributed systems don't work like that.

Different participants see updates at slightly different times.

Confidence spreads across the network, not all at once.

Most of the time that delay is so small we never notice it.

Today I did.

Nothing failed.

Nothing needed fixing.

The vault completed exactly as it should have.

It was a good reminder that there's a difference between what the network knows and what we're seeing at that moment. Those two aren't always perfectly synchronized, and that's completely normal.

What matters more than raw speed in a Bitcoin-backed system?
