At first I assumed verifying BTC collateral on Ethereum meant someone, somewhere, still had to move the coins. That assumption didn't survive a closer look at how these systems actually work.
The real issue is behavior under fragmentation. One million satoshis per vault creates tighter control over collateral, but it also multiplies state, monitoring, recovery paths, and failure points. More compartments can improve isolation. They can also create more places where users wait, misconfigure, or depend on infrastructure they do not fully see.

For BABY, the test is capital efficiency vs operational weight. Does splitting 10 BTC into 1,000 controlled units make risk easier to contain, or does it push complexity onto operators and users?
Babylon succeeds if backups behave like usable recovery infrastructure not passive insurance. My doubt is that if the challenge clock keeps moving while restoration begins how much of Babylon’s three-day protection is actually available to the claimant?
