Spent some time looking through Babylon's finality provider list because I wanted to understand where BTC delegation is actually going.
One thing stood out.
A handful of finality providers seem to attract most of the stake, ($BABY )while a lot of others barely get any delegation. I could be missing something, but it made me question how "active" BTC staking really is right now.
The idea behind Babylon is great—put idle BTC to work and strengthen shared security. But if most people just delegate to the biggest name and never think about it again, that feels more like following the crowd than actively participating.
I also noticed there's not much information available when you're choosing a provider. Things like performance history, reliability, or clear risk indicators aren't obvious, so it's easy to default to the largest provider.
Maybe this is just what every network looks like early on, and it'll become more balanced over time. Or maybe BTC holders simply prefer the safest-looking option.
