Spent some time looking under the hood of @BabylonLabs_io Labs today, and the real conversation seems to be missing from the feed.

While everyone is hyper focused on APYs and farming reward leaderboards, few people discuss what’s actually happening underneath. The critical distinction is that Babylon isn't trying to be another wrapped BTC protocol. Its main job is allowing native Bitcoin to provide economic security for PoS networks, leaving the DeFi layer for liquid staking protocols to build on top.

The engineering vision is solid, but what bothers me is the community’s current focus. Thousands of wallets are grinding campaigns, yet almost no one is debating validator behavior, slashing conditions, or how this model actually holds up under extreme network stress.

On top of that, the social hurdle might be bigger than the technical one. Bitcoin holders are naturally conservative, and convincing them to move or lock up BTC even in a trust minimized model is an uphill battle.

Incentive campaigns are great for bootstrapping early activity, but rewards always fade eventually. When they do, only the users who truly believe in the infrastructure will stick around to determine Babylon's long term future.
