When I first heard about Babylon, I assumed it was just another Bitcoin staking project. After spending some time reading how it works, I changed my mind.
What makes it interesting to me isn't the staking itself. It's the idea of letting Bitcoin contribute to PoS security while holders keep full control of their BTC. That feels more consistent with why many people trust Bitcoin in the first place.
I'm not convinced any new infrastructure succeeds just because the technology is good. It also needs developers who actually build on it and users who keep using it after the initial excitement fades.
If Babylon can prove both over time, I think it has a better chance of creating lasting value than projects that rely mainly on narratives.
