Listen, I noticed something in Babylon's Ledger announcement from March 10, 2026 that most coverage missed entirely.

Every headline I saw focused on the 8 million device number. I kept thinking about what those devices actually do at the moment a vault is set up.

When someone creates a TBV, the rules lock in permanently: claimer address, target protocol, release conditions. I cannot go back and change any of those after creation. That is the commitment.

Without Ledger's Clear Signing, I would be setting those parameters through a browser and trusting the UI to show me what I am agreeing to. With it, everything I am approving appears on my hardware screen in plain language before I sign. The verification and the permanent lock-in are the same action.

The self-custody promise in TBV is that my BTC never leaves my control. Clear Signing extends that logic to the setup itself. I can read exactly what I am committing to, on a device I hold, before it becomes permanent.

Babylon's March 10 blog placed the H2 2026 rollout for this integration. That window is now open.

What I have not found publicly is whether Clear Signing covers full vault creation or only post-setup actions. That scope detail still has not been addressed.
