i thought i was gonna spend maybe 10 mins checking @BabylonLabs_io testnet and move on… ended up staying way longer 😅 i locked some test btc into the Trustless Bitcoin Vault, borrowed through the Aave v4 flow and honestly the whole thing felt smoother than i expected. no wrapping, no bridge drama, just testing how native btc could actually be used.

but funny enough… that wasnt even the part i kept thinking about after.

i opened the CreatorPad leaderboard and saw thousands of people already grinding for a share of the $BABY rewards and i kinda laughed becuse i realized i was doing almost the same thing. telling myself i’m “researching the protocol” while also checking where i stand on the leaderboard 😭

thats when it clicked…

maybe every new crypto product starts with incentive hunters before it finds the users it was actually built for.

right now i dont think most people are here becuse they desperately needed a better bitcoin borrowing rail. they’re here becuse rewards got their attention first. and honestly thats not even a criticism… incentives have always been crypto’s way of getting people through the front door.

the real question comes later.

when the rewards slow down… do people still come back becuse the product solved something real??

thats the part i’m waiting to see.

if native btc borrowing really feels easier and safer without giving up custody, then maybe the farmers slowly turn into actual users over time. if not… the leaderboard empties and everyone moves to the next campaign.

i’ve seen both happen before.

for now i’m just watching which story wins.
