BNB Chain plans to double BSC mainnet throughput again, improve resource isolation, and refine gas fees for different types of applications. That matters because high activity in one sector should not make every other app slower or more expensive to use.
The bigger update is the next-generation L1 architecture being prepared for testnet by the end of 2026, followed by a planned mainnet release in early 2027. Its design targets 100,000+ TPS, sub-50ms preconfirmations, sub-second finality, no public mempool, native privacy, and built-in account abstraction features such as gas sponsorship, passkeys, batching, and scheduled transactions.
For me, the most important part is how $BNB fits into this expansion. BNB is expected to remain the asset powering transactions while extending its role across payments, trading, privacy, and AI-based applications.
