What would happen if Bitcoin never had to make a decision between being safe or being useful?
This thought crossed my mind while reconnecting with an old friend. He has been holding BTC for many years, but every time underlying DeFi came up, he would reply with a consistent: “I don't want to move my Bitcoin just for some additional profit.” I cannot blame him—almost all alternatives seem like the exchange of safety for opportunity.
As I dug deeper into Babylon, it became clear to me that something may be changing in the conversation. Instead of extracting the native BTC from Bitcoin, the concept now is to allow it to act as a rapid collateral for DeFi without losing its native character, which feels like the opposite approach.
If the strategy shows its effectiveness throughout the years, it will eliminate one of the biggest mental obstacles for long-term Bitcoin holders. The future of BTCFi may not be about making people trust something new but about giving them a chance of using what they already trust. #baby $BABY
