According to Yonhap, Samsung C&T Corp., the construction and trading arm of Samsung Group, said its second-quarter net profit rose 73.9% from a year earlier to 915.5 billion won ($632.6 million), as its diversified business portfolio supported growth. Operating profit increased to 1.03 trillion won from 752.6 billion won a year earlier, while sales climbed 19.7% to 11.99 trillion won. The company said its trading business posted solid results on strong steel, chemicals and fertilizer trading, and overseas operations in precision steel products and renewable energy, including solar power development, also delivered stable earnings.
