I've spent quite a bit of time following Babylon, and I keep coming back to the same thought: it feels like one of those ideas that sounds almost too obvious once you understand it. Letting Bitcoin stay in self-custody while still contributing security to PoS networks is a very different direction from wrapping or bridging BTC everywhere. Actually, maybe that's why I kept reading about it. Bridges have always made me a little uneasy.

The thing that keeps bothering me is whether the demand will really scale. The design makes sense, kind of like using an existing railway network instead of building a new one, but infrastructure only matters if enough people actually use it. I could be wrong here, but adoption feels like the harder problem than the technology itself. Then again, Bitcoin holders are usually patient, so maybe that's exactly the audience Babylon needs.

My current view is... Babylon has one of the more thoughtful approaches to Bitcoin utility that I've seen, but its long-term success depends less on clever engineering and more on whether the ecosystem genuinely chooses to build around it.
