Why Bitcoin Doesn't Need Smart Contracts for This#baby $BABY
A friend asked me something a few days ago
If Bitcoin doesn't have smart contracts like some other blockchains then how can it be used in DeFi
At first I didn't know how to answer
The more I read about Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV) from @BabylonLabs_io the more I realized the question itself wasn't quite right
Imagine you own a house
If you want a loan the bank doesn't ask you to rebuild your house first It simply checks that the house is valuable enough to be used as collateral
Your house stays the same
Only the way it's used changes
That's how I started looking at Bitcoin
Maybe Bitcoin doesn't need to become a different blockchain or gain every new feature people ask for Maybe it just needs better systems built around it
That's what I found interesting about TBV
The idea isn't to turn native Bitcoin into something else through wrapping or bridging It's to let native BTC be used as collateral while keeping it true to Bitcoin's original design
I'm still learning about it so I'm not saying this is the final answer But it definitely changed the way I think about Bitcoin
Before this I thought Bitcoin needed more features
Now I think it may have needed a better way to be used
