I've been following Babylon for quite a while, and I keep coming back to the same question: can Bitcoin really become a security layer for PoS chains without giving up what makes Bitcoin... Bitcoin? The self-custodial staking idea is the part that hooked me. You're not handing your BTC to someone else, which already feels different from a lot of staking models. Then I start thinking about infrastructure. It's almost like using the same railway network to move goods for different companies instead of building new tracks every time. Actually, maybe that's too simple because cryptoeconomic security is much messier. I could be wrong here, but the biggest challenge probably isn't the technology itself. It's whether enough ecosystems trust the model over time. I've tested parts of the ecosystem, and the design feels thoughtful, even if there are still questions I can't answer.
My current view is... Babylon has one of the more original ideas I've seen in Bitcoin infrastructure, but long-term adoption will matter far more than clever architecture.
