I keep coming back to one number: 56,800+ BTC locked inside Babylon—worth more than $5B. Yet BABY trades around $0.01271, leaving its market cap at just over $50.9M, down 3.2% this week.

That contrast is difficult to ignore.

Babylon's core design is working exactly as intended. Idle Bitcoin is transformed into productive security for PoS networks using native Bitcoin time-locked scripts—no wrapping, no bridges, no compromise to Bitcoin's base layer. The secured BTC directly strengthens Proof-of-Stake chains.

Technically, the system is delivering.

Economically, though, the picture is less clear.

BTC holders capture yield. PoS ecosystems receive stronger security. Meanwhile, the token designed to absorb governance and fee value represents roughly 1% of the value it coordinates.

If the amount of secured Bitcoin continues expanding while BABY's valuation remains disconnected, the real question isn't whether the protocol works.

It's who ultimately captures the network's economic value.
