I kept thinking about Babylon's trust model while reading through its architecture, and one question wouldn't leave me alone. We often hear the phrase "trust-minimized," but that doesn't mean trust disappears it just changes where it's placed.

But from there, you're still relying on finality providers to behave honestly, networks to enforce slashing rules correctly, and participants to respond when something goes wrong. None of that feels like blind trust, but it also isn't zero trust.

The more I looked into it, the more I realized the interesting part isn't whether Babylon removes trust altogether. It's how carefully it redistributes trust across different actors instead of concentrating it in one place.

Maybe that's what "trust-minimized" has always meant not eliminating trust, but designing a system where no single participant has to be trusted completely.

I'm still exploring the trade-offs, but it's changed the way I read protocol claims. Sometimes the most valuable question isn't "Can I trust this?" It's "Exactly who am I trusting, and for what?" 🤔
