Bittensor ($TAO) is arguably the most important AI infrastructure play in crypto right now.
The current state:
· Subnets generate ~$43 million in Q1 usage revenue
· Largest subnet gets ~$52M in incentives but generates only ~$2.4M in revenue — subsidized activity
· Critics argue much of this reflects recycling of newly created supply
My speculation:
If Bittensor can convert subsidized activity into genuine external demand, $TAO could be a massive winner. The network is currently the leading decentralized intelligence network with real usage and incentives already in place .
Upside trigger: When AI agents start paying for subnet services with real external revenue — not just token inflation.
